The EnD of The Semester

   The end of the semester is usually a great thing to hear for students in University as it there will be no more class but to some people who notice it the end of the semester means we have one foot to the door of the final examinations. Some students who realize it knows that they have to start preparing for the most stressfull time of the semester. As for me, I always takes things to lightly even during the exam and for people who knows me before we enter the exam hall I would just be standing there doing something stupid. For example, last semester for the English Language Proficiency 2 I just read a few things and when we were waiting for the examination hall to open their doors I was using the The Sun newspaper as ukelele and my friends on the other hand were panicking on using the last minutes of time we have trying to cram their notes in their heads. Some students love the end of the semester especially those who lives like bats, whereby they stay up late untill it was to late to a have good sleep to prepare them for morning clases. We look the last day as what we as Malaysian calls Merdeka no matter what age or education level we are at. When we were in primary or secondary school, those at home will know it is the last day of close not because it was the end of the month of November but how the children celebrated by yelling and playing with firecrackers and in some cases throwing flours at each other. Last saying, everybody loves the end especially to an end of whatever it is that they do.

The Final Examination

   When the final examination looms we all will be going into solitude to study. I once read somewhere that studying is an equation whereby studying= study+dying. Most of the students that I know when final examination is near they will start studying three days before the exam. I on the other hand, in the past I usually study the day before the exam or never study at all which always lead to passing the exam by just the skin of my teeth. I don't hate the final examination that much because in my mind all that I was thinking about is after the final paper of the exam begins the long holiday that we so call deserve. It's always easy to spot an examination was about to happen as you see everyone starts to panic. Library is filled with students so call group studying at the last minute and people walking around the campus grounds with notes in their hands mumbling to themselves. To people final examination is just a pain, to me it was just another checkpoint to the finish line.

retired postmaster monologue

   As I woke from a hangover with my head spinning after my retirement celebration from being postmaster, I made myself a simple breakfast and strong coffee to get over my hangover. As I looked at my presents at my table, I saw an interesting shaped present. With haste I opened it hoping for something that could entertain myself. As I tore the wrapping paper to shreds, I received and easel and a paint set. As I thought to myself why did they bought me this, I decided to try it out. After I set everything up, I started thinking what do I want to draw as my first masterpiece. As I thought long and hard I remembered watching Mr. Bean on an episode where he has to paint and decided to paint myself a bowl of fruit. When I finished the painting I noticed that the painting was terrible and so I decided to prove myself again. I decided to try and imagine while I paint and when I completed I saw that I have painted the scenery of the post office unconsciously. As I reminisce the days of being a postmaster, I decided to improve my post office scenery and take painting classes so I would never just have to imagine my old job but turning it into a masterpiece. Without me noticing it, I found out that this useless present is the next best thing to happen to me.

The Winner of The Biggest Loser Asia Monologue

   As I stood there waiting for the result, my heart beat as if the countdown to a bomb was about to end. As I hope and prayed that my number of weight loss was the most from the others, all of a sudden as the weight indicator stopped the confetti gun blew and I was announced as the Biggest Loser. As I was filled with mixed emotions, I don't know whether to scream, cry or just faint. The scream of joy from the crowd in the hall was immensely loud, i felt the stage shooked. As the host interviewed me, I was so speechless especially when I was able to meet my friends in the competition in the early round. As I was feeling happy and congratulated by my former teammates and competitors, my name was called as they had something to announce. As I was facing the host and she was talking to me, behind me a brand new car was parked behind me. I was feeling very impatient as I wanted to celebrate with my family and friends, and when they asked me to turn I was confused looking at the car parked,  I thought I was about to go somewhere. I was hoping there was a party just for the winner and when I heard that it was my brand new car. I yelled so long that I felt I was about to faint because I cannot keep my emotions cooped up anymore. After the show as I went to the toilet I looked at the mirror and said it wasn't impposible.

Life is Boring

   The statement life is boring could be debated, because everyone has their own point of view in the statement whether they agree or disagree. The people that disagree to the statement life is boring because they have something to look forward to like a new car or your first job. Other than that, the people that disagree that life is boring are usually the people who are in a relationship. This is because when a person is in a relationship they feel that life is never boring when you are with the one you love.

   Whereas from a person who agrees that life is boring is a person who has nothing to look forward to. Other than that, a person who usually believes that life is boring is actually bored at just that point of time. An example, when a person is really bored is usually doing something that is not interesting such as watching a movie that you hate.

   To me there are sometimes when I really do think that life is boring especially when I have nothing to do. Once I was really bored because I have nothing to do since there was a power out and I have no money to go out, I felt that life was so boring for two hours straight. Up untill now I cannot say that life is boring because I have almost everything that I want.

Who says grandmas can't rock.

   It is hard to say that grandmas could not rock, because sometimes the elderlies are  the wildest one of the bunch. I watch too much television to not believe that grandmas only sits quitely and reminisce, because most of the movies and series that I watch shows that the grandmas nows how to rock and party. I believe that the reason elderlies do crazy things is because they did not have the chance to do it when they were young. Everybody has a list of what they wanted to do before they die and we could only do it when we are really free.

   Grandmas can do anything as long as they either want to do it or not, and when they do your jaw will drop. I remember while watching television there was a Senario movie trailer where this old lady was drifting in her car through K.L. which was actually quite amazing if it actually happens. I have seen a show where they send homevideos where there is this grandma who actually did a bunjee jump for her 80th birthday. The one grandma that I believe that she can really rock is the famous and funny actress known as Betty Marion White. At the age of 88 she is still rocking the box office with her latest movie "You Again". Those who says grandmas can't rock better choose your words carefully cause I know there is one grandma who rocked in the past, present and future with her upcoming movie by lending her voice for the childrens book by Dr. Seuss named The Lorax coming out 2012.

Japanese artist, musician, author and peace activist Yoko Ono

I don't know much about the lady named Yoko Ono other than she's Japanese and she's the wife of the famous man known as John Lennon a member of the English band The Beatles.Since I watch too much television, there was always a joke about her being the reason for disbanding a group. While I was babysitting my aunt's daughter, she was watching a cartoon called Powerpuff Girls and on that episode the villains joined forces to fight the superheroes and was soon disbanded by a female named Moko Jono. The episode even referred to the incident how Yoko and John met.

After doing research on Yoko Ono, I found out that she has songs dedicated to her by John such as ballad of John and Yoko. Yoko was also famous as an activist for peace and human rights and during a second "bed-in for peace" which was actually like a press conference in Montreal, Canada; they created my favourite song and the anthem for peace which was give peace a chance. Other than music, Yoko Ono was also a talented artist and during an exhibition in London where she first encountered John Lennon. The way they met was by one of Yoko art project where you have to climb a ladder to reach a magnifying glass hanging by the ceiling and by using that magnifying glass you will see a word which was to John was an interesting work. After meeting with John, Yoko and John created a band called Plastic Ono band which included some famous musician such as Eric Clapton.

ADAM LAMBERT!!!WOHHOOOOO!!!

    Today's post is a tribute to the runner-up of American Idol Season 8.Adam Mitchel Lambert.Born on the 29th January 1982 in Indianapolis,Indiana,U.S. He rose to stardom when he tried up for American Idol and went through with four yeses from the judges His music genre includes Pop, Pop Rock and Rock. But during his American Idol performances, he actually did quite well with the other genres but he was mostly praised for his rock performances. Adam Lambert was nominated for a couple of awards for his music and in those nominations he won three awards, to me that is a great achievement because he was only a singer for 2 years. 
   
   I did not know that Adam was gay until Hitz.fm morning crew spread the news through the radio. He was the second man from American Idol to admit he was gay,the first was Clay Aiken. The news was a short surprised to me because some of the Hollywood stars were actually quite open with their sexuality. For example the famous actor Neil Patrick Harris who is famous for his role in the comedy series "How I Met Your Mother". Adam was really open about his gayness when he recorded his music video "For Your Entertainment" as proof of his gayness. The news about him being gay was actually released during his American Idol competition but it was agreed that this news would not affect the American Idol results by the commentators on The O'Reilly Factor.


   Adam is currently on tour and The Adam Lambert Glam Nation Tour is about to take Malaysia by storm on the 14th October 2010. I would like to say it will take Malaysia by storm but i am on the fence about this because during this one time while listening to the radio, there was a ticket giveaway and a guy who won the tickets did not sound excited when he got the free tickets whereas the others were actually screaming about it when they won the tickets. I believe that the convert would actually be glamorous as the other concert held in Malaysia. This is due to the promotion that was given by the promoters, for example, Digi customers are given 25% discount for the concert tickets.


   To me Adam Lambert is a talented singer and he was actually quite able to win American Idol but luck was not on his side. The music created up until now can easily get stuck in your head due to the song being repeated throughout the media.As long as he doesn't have any problems, he will excel in the music industry.

Kuala Lumpur

-Kuala Lumpur is an interesting place in Malaysia because you can find almost anything there from great food to great bargains as long as you know where to go. Since K.L. is very big the best shops often hide in the places you least expect to look, the best food could be found behind the big building like the malls there. We as Malaysian love cheap stuff and K.L is the best place to find it, from designer bags to hand woven baskets since the last time I went there.
-These days I started to hate it if I have to travel to K.L. because of the over crowdedness, the increase in shop lots and the confusing new roads. K.L. has grown since I actually went there and not pass by it which was actually in 1993 to 1994. The last time I actually went to K.L. was when my cousins came to visit. We had lunch there at a Korean shop in a mall and the food was literally terrible and terribly expensive.
-It was not a good start for our visit to K.L. as usual things became bad to worse when we got separated from my brother. He went out of the mall to have a smoke and ask me to bring them on a tour to look around the mall. When we walked for some time I forgot where we were, I was confused because the mall was huge and I just forgot where I placed my bread crumbs. After I noticed I was lost so begins the treasure hunt for my brother, I called him and started searching for key places in the mall. Since I was not familiar with the mall, I started asking around where these places and because I was afraid of feeling humiliated I pretended to be a foreigner by copying my cousins accent.
-After searching for my brother nearly a half an hour of search we found him waiting at the entrance of the mall. So after another bad experience we decided to watch a movie at the cinema at another mall, there was a long list of new movie my brother wanted to watch but almost the entire movie on the list I have already watched when I was at Sunway Pyramid. So we decided to watch the latest new release which was Robin Hood, but the movie does not start for an hour and since the closest place to sit down and wait was Baskin Robbins. I did not like Baskin Robbins because I am really the type of person who does not want to waste any of my families’ money unless I really have to. So I decided not to have one but was forced by my brother to choose one. I was just about to choose a flavour when one of my cousins whose age was 30 but still acts like a 10 year old child cuts me off and said that she has chosen a flavour for me. Since they were from far away my brother gave them a choice of two flavours but this genius when and took three flavours and without any of us knowing about it. My brother and I were shocked because never have we or my family ever took more than one.
-We entered the theatre to enjoy the movie after an expensive enjoyment of ice cream. We were seated and the movie started, after a half an hour I started feeling kicks on my back. I thought it was just my imagination since I have back problem due to a sport injury but then it kept on repeating. I turned around to see who was the one kicking my seat and saw it was a little kid on a family movie day for them I guess so I did not wanted to ruin they’re day since my day was ruined anyways so how would another incident could ruin my day. The day ended with a disaster for me for my latest visit in K.L. after almost 13 years since I really spent my time in K.L. plus it was raining when we wanted to go home.
-Everything changes after a period of time and a city was no exception, new buildings and higher prices is something I should have expected since my last visit. Time can really change anything but Kuala Lumpur could not change the fact that I really hate to travel there.

Poem on the 10 things I hate most

Hate is born within us,
Hate is all around us,
I hate the chores I have to do,
The chores like washing the dishes,
And the chores like cleaning my room,
Are the chores I can bare with,
But the most hateful and degrading,
Is the chore to wash the loo,
A work without thanks is a work time wasted.
Chores are the least of my hatred,

Nobody hates food but some hate parts of it,

Socializing is important,
But to me it’s just a nuisance,
Meeting new people is a burden,
Because I am a shy person,

The First Black President of The U.S.A

   I do not have political views because I thought my self and by some people that to not speak about politics and due to that I did not find it that important as long as it did not affect my life. My second post or assignment is to blog about the President of the United States.

   As far as I can remember the president election where Barack Obama was in the running for was the only one I have seen before. On the date of November 4, 2008, the United States of America was in a frenzy when Barack Obama won the bid to became the president. On that day a YouTube video was released named "the obama victory song" by lil wayne & T-pain. After searching through YouTube another video was released by Soulja Boy. Recently there was a cartoon episode created due to the election it showed about how the people were about the election of Barack Obama as the president.

   I do not know much on the current president of U.S.A but once while I was reading the newspaper an article caught my eye. The article was about how a person from Indonesia knew Barack Obama which was kind of surprising to me because I only thought that the article was about someone who migrated from the United States to Indonesia and he knew about Barack Obama. To my surprise Barack Obama was actually living in Indonesia for 5 years and at the age of 10 he was sent back to his grandparents in Hawaii due to the problems in Indonesia by his mother.

   Due to this assignment I researched and understood a little about Barack Obama eventhough I did not took the time to know what was the latest thing that he did. Going through his biograph I found and interesting quote and I belived that believing in this words was one of the reason why he became the President. The quote was "Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek." 

A New Place

   The only new place that has happened in my life was the shifting of my university. University Tun Abdul Kelana Jaya Razak in had moved to the Leisure Commerce Square which is actually an upgrade than the previous place. Now the university is not actually hiding behind a supermarket and on the plus side the area now the university is at can actually be called a campus. Instead of hanging around next to the roadside, we can actually hang out at a square in the heart of the university. Since we started the semester at the new place during the fasting month I have not had the chance to try the restaurant around the Leisure Commerce Square a.k.a The Bali Building but i heard that the food is cheap but i still miss the atmosphere at the indian restaurant called Bala.

  My first day at the new campus did not went through as I planned, I planned to come early to scout around the place to get a more better perspective on the place since I have heard a lot from the previous users of the building which were the students of the Taylor's College. My plan did not went that well because I arrived a bit too early, because I arrived to early I had plenty of time to waste since my next class was not going to begin in two hours, since there were not much to do I decided to spend my time at the library while waiting for class to begin.

  The new place was not what I expected but it was too early to tell. All I can say is that the place is actually pretty descent and the place is really beautiful. Eventhough the university have not finish settling with the classes in chaos where some of the classes does not even have any tables or chairs, it is still too early to tell maybe in a couple of month every thing will run smoothly as it previously was.
